When it comes to being in front of the camera, especially for a Livestream, we all wonder;

How can I become more confident?

We all want to be our best when presenting and being confident helps in delivering a message effectively. These are the few ways you can try to appear confident even when you are not.

Know what you want to SAY

Before being confident in front of the camera, you need to be confident of your content. Doing research is necessary for building confidence in what you are going to say in front of the camera. After ample research is done, building a script is advisable for you to be able to refer quickly. It is not meant to be read word for word, but instead, should be in point form so that your delivery will come across as naturally as possible.

Rehearse the Script

Now that you have a script. You have to make full use of it and not just leave it aside. Start rehearsing your script. Rehearsing really helps a lot. Continuous rehearsing gets you comfortable with what you have to say and through these rehearsals, you will turn out more confident about what you will be talking about. Practice in front of a mirror, practice with your friend or even record yourself practicing and do not be afraid of how you will look like while delivering your speech. Which brings us to our next point.

Be Comfortable with YOURSELF

The most important step of them all is to Be Confident. By looking at yourself and being comfortable with yourself and doing whatever you need to make you look and feel and in return, you will feel good. If you feel you look good in bright colors, dress up in your brightest colours. If you feel that you look good when you put make-up on, go ahead and doll yourself up. If you feel that getting a haircut makes you look good, drop by the saloon and go for it because when you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you will be more confident in front of the camera.

These three steps mentioned may sound like no brainers. You’ve probably applied it before back in school while you were preparing for a public speaking competition or the group presentation. But even after all these years, all these tips still apply and remain relevant, even when you’re speaking to a virtual audience on Zoom or Facebook Live.
